Well, You would get the same emotional effect if....say....Zero Disappeared from the stage into hybernation to set up the stage for the conflicts of 22XX.

I like IRA's explanation best. As for the art itself, I'm not a huge fan of X's X8 design cause I prefered his CM look. But IRA made it look really good and enjoyable. =O

Even with the explanation from IRA, I can't help but think that Alia's expression kind of bounces back and forth between sadness and outright contempt.

Wow IRA. Nice one. X does kind of look like his best friend died and Alia looks like she's not sure what to do to make X stop being so depressed and hard on himself.
