I was going to post my impressions on the recently unveiled Mega Man Universe trailers, but you know what? Screw that.
Duke Nukem Forever was announced today and I can’t describe how pumped up I am. I haven’t been looking forward a game like this since Doom 3 was announced, and yeah, we all know how that went, but I don’t care. Even if the game sucks, I’m going to enjoy every single moment of this. I finally have an excuse to upgrade my system.
I’m going to get nothing but the best stuff just for this game and blow up stuff louder than I did more than 10 years ago with the original Duke Nukem 3D, the modding, the level builder, and the other FPS of that time. Ah, such good times.
All right, this looks too cool. Why don’t they make some OVA with these concepts? Full of fanservice, labeled with some OUT OF CONTINUITY disclaimers for those who care, just exploring what if scenarios for the sake of entertainment.
The game itself is still a mystery. I’m not really into MMORPG, much less when they are exclusive for Korea, so I was not really looking forward this game, but the production values for these animations are something remarkable. I’d be happy with just a single OVA with this stuff. I wonder if the game itself will be able to impress me like this.
And Cut Man looks gangsta. I really thought he was wearing earrings and neck jewerly.
The past week I switched over to iragination.com. As usual I’ve been so busy that once the move was done, instead of making some announcement I just focused my attention on to something else.
Ok, there was actually some other thing I felt it need to be solved before making any sort of announcement. To get the new domain properly indexed on search engines. You may consider this superfluous, but I really took care to make the switch in order to make it easy for search engines to detect the change, so I really want this to be working too.
So, after a week, and after doing the relevant site submission and stuff, here are the results so far.
Bing: Perfect
Yahoo: Winner
Google: Failure?
This one is funny because Google offered me at least three times the tools Bing and Yahoo have to report such domain changes and yet it is underperforming. Maybe Bing and Yahoo are not as big as Google so they have a better time reacting to these changes. Maybe they don’t care. I don’t know.
Usually I’ll let this pass and wait for it to solve itself someday. After all I can’t underestimate the weight of years of referrers and links to my old domain. But when Bing and Yahoo are doing a better job updating their indexes, I can’t help but keep bugging Google about it until it gets this sorted out.
Well, I’m making this post to help Google a bit. Maybe they’ll catch the hint.
This is all nice and good, but then I noticed something.
High quality versions of some of the cutscene game artwork. Here’s a quick site rip.
This would be great if it weren’t because this is the very reason I get books like Mega Man Zero Complete Works. Unfortunately that book contains the same tiny pixilated game artwork, and not high quality versions like these ones.
Are we ever going to get all these pieces of artwork at high quality?
The past weekend there were already plenty of Años Viejos in the city so I took some pictures.
This time I am being more selective so I’m not posting that many.
I had plenty of inconveniences doing this post. I don’t know what changed in WordPress recently but the past year the new gallery feature was incredibly useful and set up a post like this one was a breeze. Today, after uploading all the pictures, and thank goodness they were just a few, I had to add every picture again from the Media Gallery to the post in order to show it up in the gallery tab. The gallery tab was not showing at all before the second add. That was rather counter intuitive and annoying.
I was hoping to use this feature a lot, but please WordPress developers, you had this sorted out. Leave it as it was or add some bulk functionality, otherwise browsing the Media Gallery again for every picture one by one is really discouraging.
